Very Sad Day

Well, it has been a tearful and heartbreaking day here yesterday evening and today, only time will heal. My little blond long hair Chihuahua, Taffy, died in my arms this morning. Celena had rushed her to the vet yesterday afternoon, after office hours so the vet charged us $100.00 just to go to his office. They kept her over night, called this morning, said we could do for her what they were there, charged us another $123.00, so we picked her up, brought her home, I was holding her in a blanket and she took her last breaths about ten minutes after we got her home. I think she held on long enough to get home. I know they get old and die eventually, she had a long and good life. It just hurts so much to lose them. Celena and I buried her out in the woods behind the house. That was so hard. It is amazing what you can do when you have to that you feel you are otherwise too weak and hurt to do. I just walked out there tonight to see a number of fire flies lighting around where she is buried. I know we all lose out treasured little furry babies through out life, unfortunately "death is part of life" as Dad always said... and it is always hard and heart breaking. And losing Taffy was no exception. I had to take something to calm my nerves today and have slept most of the day since we buried her. Only time will heal I guess.I miss you Taffy baby, I love you.

  2. Hi Carmen, I am so sorry for your loss and I understand how you feel right now. We had to put our 12 year old dog down two months ago and it has been really hard. You have been through so much however, you are a very strong woman! You have Jesus by your side...so you can handle anything that comes your way...don't forget that! Take Care and God Bless! 6. So sorry to hear about Taffy. I know how you are feeling. I had to make the decision to have my fox terrier "Tess" put down 5 years ago, we had her for 16 years. It broke my heart and i still think of her every day.Time does heal, although in my case it took some tims as 10 weeks ago we finally got a new Jack Russell puppy to love. It took me 5 years to feel that i was ready to replace "Tess". God Bless, Carmen, thinking of you here in Australia. HugX Jackie.

  11. I missed this post - what a sad day indeed. I know your heart still hurts but it will get better. My 18-year-old kitty, Dustin, lays to rest beside my cabin. He was the best cat ever, and had a good long life. Like Taffy, Dustin was loved every day was in my arms when he passed. It's so hard, but after awhile you'll be able to smile instead of crying when you think of him. Bless your heart. May Taffy rest in peace.

  12. Carmen, I'm so sorry to hear about your loving little dog. It's always so hard to have them leave us and go on to heaven without us. I don't look forward to any of my pets (2 dogs & 2 cats) going any time soon and they are all getting older. I know that it's been a couple of weeks now, but I'd like to share this little poem with you, it may help some.
