Not much new

Haven't posted in a while. Thanks so much Delores for caring and checking up on me. Weather has gotten soooo hot! Have another doc appt for my left arm and shoulder tomorrow in Valdosta with my rhuematologist. Little worried if he is going to say surgery this time but I am praying God will heal it and I won't have anything done to it. My little conatiner garden is looking better.I love fried green tomatoes and three tomato plants are looking good but I mostly am growing them  for Curly. I don't like red tomatoes so Curly will  get them all. Hope everyone has a very blessed week ahead. Blessings!

My Pitiful Garden of Hope!

Well here is the fruit of my labor so far.. not looking so great, huh??! Hopefully that will change. I planted this stuff last week. Not sure if it is going to go anywhere. I had pampered the plants , being so careful for days until I was able to plant them in containers and when I had them all out there ready to plant, Lysha grabbed up the box of plants and started chewing away on a number of them! Nipped the tops right off the Squash and Bell peppers. Guess I can go back to the feed store for more, they were only 40 and 50 cents each. I have them inside my fenced area since last year I had them in my front yard and seems every time I left to go some where, when I got home what ever was about ready to pick was gone..yup, I have neighbors. But honestly isn't it so pathetic to come over and steal a fricking tomato and a pepper from some ones plants?? C'mon man! So this time I have it in a fenced private area w/ locked gate. Anyway, my doc appt in Valdosta never seems to be good news anymore. I couldn't tolerate the meds they had me on so now they say I am out of options and will have to go for two hour IV treatment sessions every other month for the rest of my life. Not looking forward to it. Seems Sandy and I have always joked about copying each other... Now she goes for her chemo and maintenance treatmenmts and now I am copying her with having to go for treatments too. Oh gee, getting older is not pretty at all! But good news is I have continued to lose weight. Have lost 13 lbs just this past month. Partly from the meds I was on I believe, made me sick to my stomach a lot but the other meds they tried have had bad results requiring hospital and surgery so I am down to the IV treatments as a last option, otheriwse I am in for trouble so please say a prayer for me those of you who will. Bunny and Road Kill...

Almost hard to see him but this bunny has been hanging around my front yard for weeks now., He is so cute! Had to take the pic through the window so I wouldn't scare him off.

They look like Road Kill but it is Lysha and Miley napping in my living room floor.. not a care in the world it seems! What must that be like???!!!

Easter Delight

My dear friend Karen, so sweet and thoughtful. She is always sending out cards and little surprises that make my day and I know it does the same for others she sends them too. The other day she sent me this adorable Yellow Spring Print Bonnet with a ceramic egg and bunny head in it with paper grass. So darling! She made all of it and the bonnet is just so darn cute and spring looking... I set it out with the bunny she sent me last Easter. They look so cute together! I had to move them to the piano though so Lyra and Lysha won't notice them so much. I think I am going to use them for a center piece on the dining room table Easter day while I have my company. Going to put them in a large wooden dough bowl on the dining room table. Monday

Not been a good day in some ways but at least Celena was here with me so that made it much better. She took me to Valdosta to my Dr. appt early this morning to the rhuematologist... not good news at all. I am a bundle of nerves. BUT, afterwards Celena took me to Hobby Lobby, we enjoyed that, she even picked up a few nice items for me that she knew I would like. Then she took me to Cracker Barrel for lunch, was soooo delicious. Of the few times I have ever eaten there I was never too impressed but I must say today our food was exceptional!! Very good. Then we headed to Goodwill. We both found some wonderful things there. But I have to say I am soo proud of this quilt I found. First of all it was in the pkg, brand new, was a very nice expensive name brand & had two beautiful matching pillow shams included. The batting in the quilt must be the softest most cuddly stuff on earth cause it feel soo incredibly soft you could just curl up and fall asleep with no trouble.THE QUILT IS REVERSABLE TOO!! It is beautiful, brightens up my bedroom so much and I was ready for that, needed a spring touch in there. I absolutely love it and you will not believe how little I paid for it... Only $11.00 at GoodWill!!!!!!!!! Talk about doing the happy dance! So after all my company has left today I couldn't wait to get it out of the pkg and sure enough as I had hoped, it was in mint perfect condition, never been opened or used and I LOVE IT! So I had to take a pic to share with you. The other side of it is like a hompesun looking blue gingham. Just gorgeous! The picture does it absolutely no justice at all. You can't even see the little detail designs.

Calico Saturday

Me and Mr. Pat Emmanuel. He has the booth next to me. Was so glad to see him back this spring! And hey what in the world is going on with my hand in this pic?? It looks totally deformed or distorted! LOL!!!

Had more dolls today, worked on some last night after setting up. Black dolls, mammy's and mammy feedsacks all sold excellent. Also Raggedy Ann's sold. Only one left. The crowd seemed to be back and people were buying so I was very happy to see that! Last year the show was really off, no crowd, sales were terrible but over all this year the show seemed to be in much better shape.

Yes, it has an E-Trade app! ....Rebecca is so adorable, reminded me of the E-trade baby on TV, she was enjoying playing with that phone! Her mother, April, has been a good customer and a friend for quite a while. Couldn't resist taking the pic... with her mommy's permission of course!

This is me and my baby Celena in 1988!! We lived in Bradenton, Florida at the time, I was 30 years old. Oh I can't believe it when I look back..Gee time sure has it's way of "doing things"!!! Not always pretty either!

My Baby Girl

My baby girl, Celena Jem (Curly hair) with her room mate Jillian. My baby is 24.. doesn't seem possible! Oh how they grew up so fast...Her hubby (Michael)was home from Africa last week, we were all soo happy. He will be out of the Navy and home for good in about 7 weeks. HOORAY!!!!!!!! Thank the Good Lord! And I thank the Lord for watching over Michael while he was deployed all 3 times, bringing him back home safely.

I decided to go ahead in the storms yesterday afternoon and get them, The Good Lord was with me and I made it there and back with no problems but I did wait a few hours later than I was originally supposed to go due to the tornado warnings and storms everywhere. It was definitely worth the trip! They left to go back late this afternoon, they had a ride back home.. we all went to my church this morning, had a great time during their visit.

Was supposed to go pick up Kelly and the kids this morning but I am afraid to drive in this weather so I didn't chance the drive, an hour away and there are tornado warnings and flood warnings all around so I feel better not to chance it. All this mess is supposed to push on out by wee hours of morning so I will be glad for it to go. Hope everyone stays safe!

My Babies!!!

Woohoo! My Babies were here today. Michael and Celena took me out to lunch. Had a wonderful day with them. Michael is HOME!! At least for the rest of the week and then Sunday evening he flies back to Port Hueneme, in California.. BUT... in May he will out of the Navy for good and back here to stay. I will be sooooo happy! Only about 8 more weeks left for him to be away.

You are an angel, wish everyone had a friend like you and I am so thankful that God blessed me with you.. though we have never met in person you have been so sweet to me, to Sandy and I am sure to everyone else you care about. I enjoy our chats on the phone so much. You are a real Comfort and a Blessing. Just want to say Thank You Karen, and I hope that foot is more than perfect in no time! You deserve the best and you are a very special person with a HUGE heart. . God Bless you and yours. I thank God for some awesome friends he has blessd me with.

Hi Tina!! Celena LOVES her new purse! She is using it and told me today the more she looks at it the more she likes it. I absolutely love it myself so after the spring show I may see if you are up to making another one and GIVE ME A PRICE on it!! LOL! Your work is absolutely gorgeous, she has had several people comment on the purse how much they like it including the cashier today while she and I were with Dustin at Wally world.. Thanks so much!!

A prayer answered!!

Been 2 years since my dear little Dustin has been here with me and tonight he is finally here again, spending the weekend with me! My heart is over joyed. God is great!

My sweet baby girl Celena came over to spend the night too, she is so happy to see Dustin again. She and I will find somewhere to go tomorrow to get out with Dustin for a little while.

Dustin and Brianna, Kelly in background too. Brianna is singing and in motion all the time, Dustin is as beautiful and precious as ever and Kelly looks great and is doing well. I had lunch with them and spent a few hours visiting today. Dustin will be spending the weekend with me next weeekend! I will pick him up Friday after school. Can't wait. I put video of Dustin skateboarding and more pics of our visit today on my FB. Dustin made me a beautiful Valentine card while I was there, made from construction paper and doillies, he wrote "I love You Grandma".. then he made me a heart out of pipe cleaners and twined them together. I will treasure them forever!!
My heart is still melted, I have missed him so much.

I went to Thomasville this morn and attended church with Kelly. The kids weren't there, Dustin was visiting his dad and Brianna was with Tim's family. Had a good time but missed being at my own church, Life Springs.

Comfort and prayers to all of you with Loved Ones in OUR Military.Especially those in hostile foreign lands and danger zones. My son in law Michael (above) is one of those Troops and I pray for their safe return, for your loved ones and for mine. No one knows unless you have some one over there how it really feels. Recently we lost the life of a young Soldier, Spc 4 Patrick Lay ll.He was killed this past October when his humvee ran over an IED bomb in Afghanistan. I used to baby sit him as a child. God Bless and comfort those who have lost loved ones abroad, God Bless our Troops, God Bless the USA!
