piddling

I was out in my wood shop looking for something to go in the kitchen on the bar and recovered a piece of old table top and some old boards that were made into a frame so I pounded and pounded the frame with a hammer to make it fit the table top for the backing and stuck another piece of wood into it for a shelf and came up with this for a display piece to hold my crocks and a couple of chickens. The gas stove that originally was in here is no longer useable so it is in a shed. I had bought this wall oven and glass top stove that is a counter top style. Never was able to do any casing in for the oven so the ugly side was still exposed but this helps hide that side of it. Oh my arms and shoulder are in merciless pain now from all that hammering and pounding, my RA has been acting up bad enough lately and now I feel like I could just collapse! Well, time to go get the BenGay and heating pad and settle in on the couch for a while in hopes this pain will ease up!

Cat Nap Inn

I just thought it was too cute that Miley picked this spot for a cat nap on top of my old piano with the Cat Nap Inn sign hanging above! I had ordered the sign from the Country House magazine many years ago and still like it just as much as I did when I ordered it. Well it is a beautiful sunny day and much warmer out there than it had been. I am feeling so over whelmed though. There is so much that needs doing, so much I need to be doing, things that need fixing around here that I need help with and I also am determined I am going to have a little spring garden this year and also want to make a beautiful little decorative Prim Garden with flowers and herbs and some things that came from my Dad's old shed that he gave to me... parts off old plows and old buckets, etc. Also have some old rustic birdhouses I want to incorporate into it. I normally don't care for or just don't have time for spring items but this year I am excited about a garden for some reason. Just hope I can pull it off! Need to find easy things to grow.
Blessings everyone!

Christmas decorations put away

Guess Miley has been bored lately. Hides under the rug in the kitchen and
watches me trip over him while I am trying to cook! This rug has about had
it, ready for the trash!

Need to put the sled away but other than that most everything Christmas has been put
away. This is the bar in the kitchen.

More of the kitchen

Still needs some cleaning up.......Stove , kitchen

My bedroom

Part of Living room, Zoey curled up in the recliner

Threw a blanket over the couch since the dogs lay on it so much. Usually have the dark blue
blanket on it that matches but it is in the wash. (More Living room)

More Living room, Love seat with applique pillow Sandy made and gave to me left over
from her Fall shows. I am a big fan of Sarah Sporrer, this is one of her designs.
Miley is napping on the back of the Love Seat. One of my favorite posessions hangs
above the Love seat on the wall...., this big chime clock I got from a local antique store
years ago. It was made in the late 1800's.
Still has the original key to wind it up and all original parts.

An old trunk Celena's dad gave to me years ago that he found at a Flea Market. Think he
paid about three dollars for it. I really like it, still use it for a coffee table.
And sitting on the trunk is one of my Dad's old Bible's that I have, priceless to me!
Dad could wear out a Bible faster than any one, he definitely studied the word.

Looks empty w/o the Christmas stuff all around. Snapped a few shots tonight after cleaning up. Can't get a pic w/o the dogs or cat in it.

Vegetable Stomp Recipe

Don't know where the name came from but was told that is what they call it. This is a delicious, easy and healthy recipe I wanted to share. And the great thing is you can grow all of these veggie ingredients in your garden at home! My daughter Celena used to make it a lot when she was staying with me. She added mushrooms and dried red hot pepper to it but I leave those two things out. I made a big dish of it and have been eating off it for 2 days and is sooooo delicious! You can do many variations of it but this how I like mine:
In oblong glass baking dish cut up into bite size pieces 3 zucchini, 4 squash, 2 or 3 tomatoes ( I used the smaller ones), a couple green peppers, half an onion, and mushrooms if desired though I don't desire mushrooms! After all veggies are in dish, drizzle with Olive oil and sprinkle lots of Seasoning Salt very, very generously with the seasoning salt( I use Mc Cormick Seasoning Salt) Toss well so it is all coated thoroughly. Pop into preheated oven at 350 degress UNCOVERED for about 30 minutes. Then sprinkle a pkg shredded Mozzarello cheese over top and bake another 5 minutes. That's it.. you are done. It is soo good! I eat it by itself but it is delicious over rice or pasta or as a side dish with your dinner.

Lyra and Lysha at the Beach in Sunny California!

Never thought I would be envious of that poor abused Husky that roamed the street out here, but Lysha has become one lucky dog! Celena and Michael along with a friend of theirs took Lyra and Lysha for a walk on the beach by their house yesterday. It is something they do about every day. They love those two dogs so much, and I know the Love is returned. What a beautiful beach and sunset.

Lysha's new home in California!

Celena (my baby girl) and her hubby Michael have a beautiful home right on the beach in Oxnard, California. Their Husky Lyra and of course Lysha (the husky she and I recsued while she was staying with me).. are all very happy. Celena and Michael love to go hiking in the mountains and of course Lyra and Lysha always go with. The dogs are so happy and spoiled rotten. And of course Michael and Celena are very happy. Here is a breath taking view of the scenery, this is Michael and Celena with Lyra and Lysha this past weekend on their hike in the mountains.

Who Needs a Husband Anyway??

Why bother having a husband when I have this wonderful cat that does nothing to help me around here and can sit there and watch FootBall all day?!! LOL!! Miley was at it again this past week when the play off games were on. But I must say I am the hopeless FootBall fanatic here! FootBall is the only reason I even care to have a TV and about the only thing I care to watch for the most part. Hate to see the season end, And I guess Miley does too, I can have the TV on all day and night and he responds to nothing except FootBall and when it comes on , there he goes.. right to that seat and in front of the TV! He knows the sounds and it gets his attention. Nothing else on TV does. Yup, I just love this cat.. we can watch FootBall together and enjoy a cup of Strawberry Activia together..LOL!! Posted down below Miley grabbing the Activia away from me, he devours that stuff! We fight over it.

Move over Jamie Lee Curtis!

Oh yes, My kitty Miley LOVES Activia yogurt. Anytime I get one out of the fridge Miley knows the container and waits patiently to hear the spoon scraping against the little carton, knowing I am about done and it is his turn with it.. he absolutely Loves this stuff! I sent the pics to Activia. LOL!

Blah Holiday Blues!

Guess I will start taking down Christmas decorations. Tonight I put away all the Christmas cards I received from others, having a hard time bringing myself to take the decorations down this year. It is all just so pretty and I don't want to put it away, still enjoying them too much. Just doesn't feel like I had Christmas in a way I guess. I mean I had a wonderful Christmas with Sandy and her family but it is just odd not having been in my own home or with my child for the first time ever at Christmas! Just feels sort of strange. Got a couple dolls to finish up and then suppose I better get busy on getting the decorations down if I don't want them to still be blinking red and green at Easter. Hoping this New Year will bring so much more good health and happiness and financial blessings for us all!
