Hard days work

I worked my rear end off today, running around here like a crazy woman. Was hot, sweating like crazy, had to stop and get a shower. Have cooked, baked, & grilled food today, cleaned and cleaned house, plus taking care of my ex.. my daughter's dad who is recovering from surgery. So he is lying up in the bed with the a/c and a fan on him all comfy, I look around and I see Miley kitty lying on her back on the couch enjoying the cool air blowing from the a/c right on her while she sleeps so good, then there is that crazy dog lying on her back sleeping on the back porch and what you can't see is a fan right there by her back legs blowing right on her! I was thinking I am so glad everyone else is so comfy while I sweat bullets and work my tail off! LOL!

Sandy and me, ready to go to dinner on the ship.Oh the food was Fantastic!

This is all of us but Sandy.. Samantha, me, Christina and Kaylan.

Why I posted this pic I have no idea! UGH! But this is the hallway where our cabin was located. Sandy and I had a cabin to ourselves to share and the girls had another to share of their own. As Sandy said, we woke each other up snoring!! We had a nice size two bed cabin, the girls had a balcony outside their cabin and 3 beds squished into it.. I was happier with the two beds and more room!

Looking up at all the decks from a lower deck inside the main area of the Ship. There are so many shops and bands playing, comedy shows, casino, just so much going on all the time. Always live bands playing different music styles through out the ship. Was great.

The glass elevator, we must have rode on that a hundred times getting from deck to deck. It was all so colorful and beautiful. My camera memory card was full by the first day so I am waiting for Sandy to send me all the pics she took on the cruise so I can post some more! Plus she has all those pics I haven't seen yet. I must say that on the cruise I have never seen so much bare skin and bathing suit fabric stretch so many differnet directions! Was all fun though.

Outside Cracker Barrel in Lake Park, Celena (standing) and Chloe (sitting), we were waiting for Todd and Sandy to arrive.

Sandy and me ready to go to Dinner on the Cruise ship.

Me at the port in Nassau, Bahamas. Sandy took the pic. Waiting for my Ship to come in... always thought I would be at the airport when it did! LOL.. no, actually that IS my ship behind me. My oh My those ships are HUGE! I went on one almost 25 years ago and had forgotten how big they really are. Had a great time with my BFF Sandy and we enjoyed Samantha, Kaylen, and Christina's company also what little time we met up with them but we did all have dinner together everynight so that was cool. Was a great time with a GREAT freind. But I think we were all 5 of us exhausted and ready to come home by the end of the cruise..Sandy and I aren't used to the NIGHT LIFE any more that we experieneced on the cruise! Heee!! But we had a blast enjoying it.

Had a great time on the cruise, back home.. hope all is well with everyone! Blessings, Carmen.

I Won??!!!!

I actually won a Give Away from a blog! Received this adorable little Ball jelly jar with a painted snowman head on it, greenery and twigs in it, splash of mica flakes on them, homespun tie around the top, and a battery operated wax dipped candle in it. She even put the battery in so I turned it on and have been enjoying it. I set it out in the living room. Didn't want to have to wait for Christmas! It is from Denise's Kountry Patch. Thanks so much Denise! I just love it and was so tickled to have won it!!

A Fire Tonight??

Trying to turn my unmotivated "Ho Hum" mood into some "Ho Ho Ho, MERRY CHRISTMAS!" mood.. going to turn on the electric fire place tonight (w/o the heat), put in my favorite Christmas Movie, a wonderful smelling gingerbread cinnamon tart, and FORCE myself to stitch and stuff some Christmas dolls tonight. Have a new pattern in the works also, plus I have dolls to make for my friend Sandy Patton that I am WAY behind on! Sooo Hopefully tonight the little workshop will be all a buzz here finally! heee!! !

Ok, how unmotivated and bored am I when I just take pics of the outdoors b/c it finally rained?? And you can't even see the rain falling in the pic??? UGH, I am having such a hard time making myself get to work this year!

At least in this pic you can see the rain on the ground.. REAL exciting, huh??? Actually it is great news that it rained b/cause we had been in a horrible drought for a while also like so many other places. Appreciate the Rain, Lord!!

New Santa Pattern, available as E-pattern also.

This is my New Pattern, "CHRISTMAS FROM THE ATTIC". This big Santa measures aprox 43", (no legs) has big prim bag of goodies for good little boys and girls. The Bear is not included in pattern, it was purchased from a Thrift Store.

Santa has an Antique old cutters quilt made into his coat and hat, rusty safety pins down front with rusty jingle bells attached.

His face has been very grunged with cinnamon and coffee stain, Santa has a pinched nose and button eyes. Sheeps wool is used for his beard, has been needle felted on. Stained batting for his coat and hat trim.

This is the only one I have made so far, he is the pattern cover model and is available for sale for $85.00 ppd in USA. His coat and hat are made from a Very Old antique handmade quilt that has been grunged and sun dried. Santa also has a battery operated grunged wax candle in his bag. Uses two AA batteries that will burn for a month on one set of batteries. He also has a few other little goodies stuck in his bag. Santa's bag is old prim looking tweed fabric with patches prim stitched on both sides and has a thick Jute rope strap. If you would like to purchase him, please contact me, this is the only one available at this time. Thanks so much for looking! Blessings to ALL!

For many years I have LOVED this song and finally found it on Your Tube! When I first heard it was by the Jackson Mass Choir when they came to our church in Bradenton, Florida. Had the CD but it got lost and have never been able to find another copy. Hope you enjoy!Blessings, Carmen

Just too Precious!

I just had to snap this pic! Poor Bristol, she has always been so insecure and follows me from room to room everywhere I go no matter what, seems scared to death she will be left behind. Bristol is the little black dog Celena found running scared along the busy highway in Albany about a year ago, so here at my house she landed and been here ever since. She is so insecure I have to take her with me when I go visit Sandy too. Well I was sitting on the couch this afternoon reading in my Dear Dad's old Bible. I laid it down on the couch to go get a glass of tea, Bristol had been lying there beside me, for once she didn't follow me into the next room, I came back in the living room to see her finding comfort in the word! LOL! She laid there so sweet with her head on Dad's old Bible, Had to grab the camera and snap this precious moment! I have a situation that is troubling me and I was seeking some scripture for comfort about it, well it seems as though God uses animals more than we know, Bristol seemed to be saying "Yup, it's all in here, I feel it too!" LOL!

A Bunny from Karen

Here is a pic of the adorable little Patriotic Bunny my dear friend Karen Betchan made and sent to me. She wanted me to have him for the 4th of July but he was a little late getting here, but that is fine. I dispalyed him in this old Hoosier Cabinet that I treasure by my SIL Michael's Navy pic, my little Patriotic Corner! Also there is the beautiful Patriotic card Karen made and sent with the bunny, isn't it too cute?? She makes the most precious cards! Have Blessed week everyone!

Busy Bee

Finally finished my first real projects since my surgery..LOL.. Took me long enough!! Oh My Stars.. I had this order hanging for ever and finally got them shipped out the other day. It had been so difficult to get back into working again, I had felt bad for soo long after that last surgery but thank God I feel so much better now and back on track.,. just need to stay motivated and I think a lot of that is the heat and AGE preventing me from working like I need to be, getting into my 50's has taken a toll for sure! Sandy and I are always trying to find legitimate excuses for why we aren't getting anything done but I think we have thought of everything and ran out of excuses now. But hey, it is hard to sit here thinking "Christmas" and make santa's with long wooly beards and heavy coats when it is 100 degrees outside! Soooo, just wanted to share these pics, these are both from my own pattern designs available on my website as finished items or pattern form. They are my Mammy Vaccum Cover and SunFlower Friends Bucket. I used an old rusty paint can I found from out in my shop to put the Sunflowers in. In the cupboard behind them you can see a darling Patriotic Bunny my dear friend Karen Betchan made and sent to me the other day. She does such beautiful work and makes the most adorable cards with all that scrap booking stuff, she is just awesome! I just loved the card as much as the bunny, I had to set it out for dispaly as well as the bunny rabbit! Have a Blessed Day everyone!

Christmas Decorating?? LOL!

Best Christmas Decoration story "Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever. Great stories. But two things made me take it down. First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by. Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn't realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn't take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard."

OH No Lysha!! No you didn't!!! Toooo Funny!

Ok, do you remember Lysha?? the abused Husky that Celena and I rescued??... Well...I just HAVE to write about this, I am still laughing so hard. Celena, my daughter called me this morning from California and as we are talking she tells me about their friend who also lives with them and is in the service with Celena's hubby, anyway the young man who I won't say his name, will call him John Doe, so John Doe is going to be leaving the country for about a week, he is on leave for about 8 days and is going to be visiting in another country during that time.
Sooo, John Doe occasionally likes to party when he is on leave. So this girl he is sort of seeing had bought some pot, paid about $40.00 for it, supposed to be good stuff. Anyway she brings it over and gives it to John Doe to keep until tomorrow when he and his girl friend and a few other of his friends were going to get together and party b/f John Doe leaves for his trip abroad. So John Doe has the pot in the house. So, while Celena and Michael and John Doe were all sleeping last night, Lysha sniffs out the pot, EATS every bit of it and leaves the chewed up baggy in the living room floor!! OMG, I am still laughing soo hard, I thought it was hillarious!! Of course we all know now that Lysha would make a great drug sniffing police dog! But they would have to retrieve it from her b/f she eats it! But Lysha is fine today,I am sure she was feeling no pain for hours last night though!! Probably explains why she ate all the dog food in the dish during the night too....had the munchies after eating that dope! Now I don't smoke pot and don't agree with it but I think it is the less of the evils of drugs and I do think it is probably less harmless than some one getting filthy drunk all the time, but no I don't believe it is right. But I just had to laugh soo hard at Lysha and this little incident. I guess John Doe knows not to bring drugs into their house again! We don't want Lysha in Doggy rehab or hitting the streets looking for a dealer!HEE!!

FINALLY! Curly sheared properly..LOL!

Mr. Eddie came out today and sheared Curly. He has sheared him for a number of years now and he knows how to do it and what he is doing so I was so glad it finally got done. Curly's hair was felted and matted and with this heat I know the poor fellow was so miserable! He feels sooo much better now, and so do I!! Curly still gave Eddie a difficult time, he doesn't like being sheared at all, but I had given Curly a peanut butter and valium sandwich about 45 minutes b/f Eddie got here so he seemed to think it made a differnce and so do I. It is so hard to watch though b/c Curly gets soo upset, I worry due to his age especially and add the heat to it, well I stood inside and prayed the whole time of the shearing that Curly would be okay. I have had Curly about 13 years. But, the job is done now and Curly has all that heavy thick matted hair off him and he seems to feel much better, thank God once again he made it through the shearing!

My news

My son in law (pictured above, Michael Garcia) will be shipping out again for deployment to Africa the end of next month, please keep all our troops in your prayers. My daughter Celena will be coming back to this area when he leaves next month and thank God he will be out of the Navy when he returns and they won't be going back to California where he is stationed. Nothing against Calif.. it is just sooo far away from where I am!! Celena will be staying in Albany about 40 minutes from me, she has a job promised to her over there plus her best friend she grew up with lives there, we went to church over there all the time she was growing up so a lot of her friends are there plus Michael's family, she spent a lot of time in Albany so it is very familiar territory to her. Anyway, she will be close by so I am happy! My second news.. knew it would happen. Some one copied my witch pattern exactly and stuck a frickin frog with it and put it on Pattern Cupboard as their own design with the New Fall Patterns. They shrunk it down and painted the eyes on differently than what I did with them, but yup, my pattern copied exactly. Grrrrrrrrrrr! Well, got things to do and places to go so hope you have a safe and Blessed week!

Please keep Celena in your prayers. Her doctor wants to see her at 8 Monday morn to discuss all her test results. Am praying she will easily be able to get this taken care of what ever it is that was wrong. I worry so much about her, she is still my baby even though she is 23 years old now and being so far away from her, well it is very difficult. Thanks so much for your prayers.

Jessica and Friends

Jessica and some of her friends at the Beach in Bradenton, Florida ready for Graduation Night!

Jessica ....crowned Senior Court Princess this year!

Jessica (orange gown, 1st one on right) and some of her friends at the beach a couple days b/f High School Graduation!

What a beautiful picture, makes me cry! She is all grown up now.

My beautiful Niece graduated

(Pictured above is Sophie(my sis in law), My brother Jimmy and his beautiful daughter who is my niece, Jessica)
My beautiful niece Jessica graduated from South East High School in Bradenton, Florida night b/f last. She has accomplished so much and I am so very, very proud of her for all the great accomplishments she has made and most of all for making the RIGHT choices she has made all these years.
When Jessica was barely 8 years old, her biological mother whom she lived with, took her own life in the very room with Jessica. My brother Jimmy, who is her biological father, and his wife Sophie who has become nothing but MOM, not step mom to Jessica, have had custody of her ever since. She is their only child.
Jessica started making Honor Roll in grade school at that time and has ever since. She was senior class president and presided over the graduation Ceremony the other night, introducing all the speakers and giving the welcome speech at the begining of the Ceremony. Jessica was state and Divisional weight lifting champion as a senior this year!!
In her Freshman year, Jessica was on drill team, volleyball team, was vice president of her class and was crowned the Freshman Princess that year. As a Sohomore, she was on the Sophomore advisory board and continued her weightlifting and sports participation, earning medals in weightlifting. Her Junior year she was again on the advisory board, was junior class secretary and helped plan the prom. Also she joined the National Honor Society which requires a 3.5 grade point average or higher, she made it to state finals that year in weight lifting and placed with a medal, She was the Manatee County Champion for her weight class.
Jessica said her dream the first three years of high school was to become class president of her senior class.. and YES she accomplished that!! She won, she was elected Senior Class President!! Woot Woot!!! She was crowned Miss Senior Court in the pageant, placed in a talent show where she choreographed her own dance.. was awesome! She joined many clubs as a senior such as "Noles for Christ" (the school mascott is the South East Seminoles, thus Noles), Seminole Pride Club which was basically community service, National Honor Society again and Senior Advisory Board. In addition she joined Drill Team and says she enjoyed spinning that 9 pound rifle and marching. Her Drill Team went to the State finals and brought home trophies! Jessica also joined track team and of course continued in weight lifting, she went to state finals again placing 5th in the ENTIRE STATE for her weight lifting this year in her weight class doing 135 pound bench press and 155 pound clean and jerk lift, winning medals again!! She also became a Senior Notable which only 16 students are selected for this honor by teachers, her grades were in the top 10% of her class. This is why she got to wear Orange cap and gown at graduation instead of the blue gown.
Jessica has joined the United States Navy and will be shiping out July 19th. She is going to be an Operation Specialist, which is radar tracking on the ship. Jessica wants to do Power Lifting in the weight lifting after joining the Navy! She has BIG plans for her future and I don't doubt she will more than conquer and accomplsih anything and everything she sets out to do.
I am so very, very proud of her. Instead of falling prey to bad choices and lame excuses, she has stood tall and acccomplsihed so much. Jessica, her dad Jimmy (my brother) and (step) mom live below poverty level and have struggled desperately to get by month to month all these years, yet Jessica has not let any of that stand in her way of being a great success so I just can not and will not ever accept excuses I hear from these kids and adults who commite horrific crimes and use thier poor poverty stricken life or a tragedy as an excuse for rolling over into bad choices and drugs or for being a failure. Jessica has lived with a very low income level all these years and also has overcome the worst tragedy a child could possibly face, seeing her mother take her own life in front of her, yet Jessica chose to push forward full force and turned her life into great success and accomplishments! But I will say she did have one great advantage.. she has a mom and Dad who love her very much, support her in all she does, encouarge her and have led her to the church doors and shown her what it is to be not only a church member but to be active in the church and community in spite of their great financial struggles. She has been a great example for us all and my brother (her dad) says Jessica is his Hero! And through all this she is the most down to earth and humble person, has never been a 'Click" or snob and even just for that I am so proud!! I love you Jessica!!! So very proud. May God be with her, protect her and bless her all the days of her life. Go Jessica!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday news and My Container Garden....

Hope everyone had a SAFE Memorial Day. My conatiner garden (pic above) is doing quite well, better than I expected! I have gotten squash, green peppers and cherry tomatoes off of it so far, actually those are the only 3 things I have growing so I would say it is a sucess! The bell peppers I ate for the first time from it last night and oh what a difference from the ones you get at the store, soo sweet and delicious! (AND FREE!!) We had an awesome church service Sunday morn and evening, I am feeling much better and have actually been able to start sewing again! Still hard to find motivation some times with the heat so bad, but at least so much of the other stuff I was feeling and suffering with has been lifted! Thank God! Sandy got a great report from her doc about her pet scan this morning so Praise the Lord for that!!! Please continue to pray for my Celena, she had to go to hospital this morn for test and has to go back this afternoon for more, has to go again tomorrow morn for another test and should find out some results Friday. All prayers appreciated! Thank You so much! Enjoy your week everyone, be safe and take care!
Blessings to all.

Hello

Haven't posted for days so I wanted to write a quick note... have been feeling so very exhausted and sick and tired ever since I got out of the hospital, had very few good days but today I am actually feeling a little better but still very tired feeling over all. Have Doc appts all next week so I hope to see if maybe I need a little blood work or something or if it is normal to still be feeling this tired and wore out. It was a month ago yesterday and the day before that I had the surgeries, two days in a row of surgery. I really thought I should be back to normal by now but am certainly not. As far as my baby Celena, she had a thyroid ultrasound today, more blood work and has to go to hospital the 31st for some nuclear medical test of some sort... they are still trying to get to the bottom of it all. She calls and keeps me informed. They did say she has some sort of heart murmur in the left chamber of her heart but there is more to her problem than that.
Hope everyone out there is safe from that awful weather! I know last month during my illnes that a large number of you who sent cards and care pkgs live in Missouri and nearby. I have been prayng for you all and hope you are all safe and sound!! Please have a blesssed and safe weekend. My prayers go out to all of you who have been affected in any way by that horrible bad weather. God Bless you and yours!

Yet Another Blessing!

Yesterday (Sunday) my sister Teresa and her hubby Bob showed up at my door around six in the evening totaly unexpected! They live about 6 hours away, are here to help me out for a few days. She didn't tell me they were coming cause she knew I would try to clean house, etc and yes I would have tried and oh I am so not up to it at this point. I am still so tired, in pain, and exhausted and a bit confused but I know will get better. But my BIG worry of how will I get to the store and such has been answered by Almighty God once again! They didn't think I would be out of the hospital this soon and my brother in law had a couple doc appts so they weren't able to be here any sooner when I got out of hospital like they wanted to be. I was very surprised to see them. Will be a big help to me and glad to see them too. God Bless!

Eating Humble Pie

Part of front yard

My Container garden, seems to be doing okay.

Front of house, front porch

Side of house and part of barn

Side of house, part of back yard shows. I really didn't get any pics of back yard

but they did a beautiful job on it ALL! Just wish it would stay this way! LOL!

My wonderful Pastor Ricky (dark blue shirt) and the three wonderful youth from church who came out and worked so hard yesterday on my terribly overgrown yard. Blake, Taylor and also another young man named Blake They did such an awesome job and oh how much I appreciate their terrifically hard work and how beautiful it all looks now! Thank you so much guys! Your all just great!

Some of the cards and a couple dolls I received while in the hospital this time. I set them up in

my living room after I got home. Each and every one is so special and one person sent me

some candy... yup, I ate it all, was delicious!! Thanks so much to each and every single one, you

all have put a smile on my face and a happy beat in my heart! I just love the dolls, cards,

candy, kind facebook and blog comments, just absolutely EVERYTHING! I truly mean it. I

can't believe it when I look at all of them! God Bless and Thank You!!

****Well I had reached rock bottom spiritually and emotionally as I got sicker here recently b/f I was admitted to hospital and had the surgeries. So many things happened and I was feeling as though I had no one in the world or in my church but in that late deepest darkest hour, God's Light suddenly Beamed in all it's brightness. I must say I feel so humbled and overwhelmed with joy in what God can do in the blink what seems like a dark hopeless situation. My dear pastor , his wife, and several ladies from the church stopped in to see me while I was in the hospital, also my nieghbor Roger and his daughter Amanda came by to me see me several times. I received so many cards, a couple handmade dolls and a few care pkgs while in there and it made me feel so good and special, what a blesssing every bit of it from the phone calls, cards to visitors, just everything and the church sent me a beautiful potted plant. I came home late this past Thursday afternoon I believe it was and Saturday morn I was awoken to the sound of mowers, etc, I looked out the window and there was my pastor and 3 of the youth from the church mowing my yard, they worked hard for at least a couple hours or more it was such an overgrown mess and I have a very large yard. I couldn't believe it, what a wonderful blessing for them to be doing. I had to get a group pic of them after they were done I was so touched. Then the day b/f a lady I didn't even know dropped off a few bags of groceries to me, stuff I could make for myself like lunch meat sandwich and cereal. Last night my neighbor cooked a wonderful dinner and sent some over to me. I must say I have been very humbled by it all and so ashamed of how I had felt like I was such a nobody to the church and that even God didn't care about me anymore. I felt so ugly about myself and the way I was thinking and feeling and my ill feelings toward God and the church even. I was just down so low. I confessed it all to my dear pastor who is always so kind and understanding. . God has truly blessed and taken care and watched over me even as I am so very undeserving. I posted pics above of how nice my yard looks now and a pic of the gracious kind fellows who spent their Saturday morning out here working so hard in my yard just because I couldn't do it and they wanted to do it. God Bless all of you, and Have a Happy Mother's day to all you Mom's out there! God Bless All of you!!!! And thanks so much dear God for your wonderful mercy and forgiveness.

Home at last!

I convinced them to release me yesterday afternoon but I am so tired and just do not feel well. Right now there will be a home care nurse out every day. I have just been too tired to even check the email or anything but I do want to say a great big THANK YOU to so many of you who sent cards and pkgs. I am just overwhelmed at the out pouring of cards and messages I have received and believe me each and every one of them have been so special and meant so much to me. I want to send out more personal thank you's to all of you when I get to feeling better but right now I just not thinking clearly and so tired. I was in the hospital 11 days here in Moultrie this time instead of having to go to Atlanta like last time. I had to have emergency surgery the day the doc saw me she sent me straight to be admitted to hosptal it was so bad,I lost a lot of blood after the first surgery where they left the wound open so they had to give me blood transfusuions again, was on oxygen for about next 8 or 9 days & constant IV antibiotics again too, then I had to have a second surgery the very next morning plus have a pump placed in my arm to draw infection and poison from my arm and chest which was on my left arm so they were concerned about it reaching my heart cause they said it was already spreading into my chest cavitiy. Apparenetly that methotrexate medication they have had me on for my Rhuematoid Arthritis has lowered my immune system too low and all lowed that very near deadly infection almost two years ago to set up at the base of my spine and they believe this time it is the same thing. The infection this time had started to set up in my left shoulder and arm when I got hurt a few weeks ago but I did not realize how serious it was, i got so sick from the infection that I fell in the back yard onto a rusty nail and at that point with in a couple of days it spread infection all in my arm, swelled up in HUGE bright red long lumps and ferverish and already started spreading into my chest cavity toward my organs (heart and lungs) which they told me would be deadly, so they said I have escaped death twice in less than two years from practically the same thing. . Needless to say I will not take that methotrexate for my RA anymore, don't know what I will do about that besides PRAY FOR A MIRACLE! But I just wanted to say I am home and thanks sooo very much for all of you who have been so kind and sweet and sent cards and pkgs., comments, I appreciate every bit of it and I would also like to say thanks to my neighbor Roger and his daughter Amanda who have kept an eye on my house for me, fed my goat and chickens and taken care of things for me during this whole sickness. I was so sick from the infection and all b/f I went to the hospital that Roger was coooking and bringing me dinner over for several nights b/f I was admitted cause I was just too sick to cook , hardly even knew my own name.. honestly! and since I have been home now he has brought dinner to me a few times also. It is such a blessing to have people in your life that care and share and that are there when you need them. Thanks again everyone,I think I am just so give out and tired, can't think straight anymore tonight... I need to get back to bed. Not supposed to stay up very long at a time...doc's orders. Have a blessed, safe and wondererful evening everyone. God Bless all of you!!!.
